your blueprint
a 25-day practice in strengthening your professional identity
ten minutes a day.
one short lesson each morning — a reflection, an exercise, a prompt.
recorded, so you can do it on a walk instead of at a desk.
at the end you have language for your own work that you didn't have to borrow from anyone, by finding the story you're already carrying
this is the work that leads to professional clarity and you have failed to make room for it
it's the work of knowing what you stand for. not your strengths, not your skills — those are easy to list. but what you actually believe about the work, what you're for, what you would refuse in a hearbeat. the thing that sits under the title and doesn't move when the title changes.
most people put it off indefinitely, because there's always something more urgent and because it doesn't feel like it has an impact on your work. and they couldn’t be more misguided.
because almost everything you want from your professional life turns out to rest on this work:
deciding under pressure.
when there's no easy answer, you decide from what you stand for. if you've never worked out what that is, you decide from whatever is loudest in the room.
talking about your work.
if you find it hard to describe what you bring to the table, it's that you haven't yet decided what's true. once you have, the words come easy.
having a perspective.
advisory work, thought leadership, being the person people come to — none of it can happen without a point of view. and a point of view isn't a position you adopt. it's what's appears when you’re honest about what you've actually learned.
not disappearing into the role.
the longer you're simply useful to other people, the easier it is to lose the thread of why you're doing any of it. knowing what's meaningful to you is what makes it meaningful.
seeing how you're uniquely qualified.
most people can't answer this, and it isn't their modesty. it's that they've never looked directly at what their own history made them good at.
this is twenty-five days of looking directly at it.
how it works
each day: one short lesson with one piece of work attached.
listen to a guided reflection for ten minutes every day.
the lessons move through four movements —
your foundation
your story
your perspective
your unique contribution.
it's a condensed version of the inner authority method™, the framework behind my keynotes and workshops.
you go at your own pace. access doesn't expire.
what you get out of it
a written account of what you actually stand for
the two or three ideas your work keeps returning to, and why they're yours
a clear read on what your own history qualified you to do
language you can use in an introduction, a talk, a hard conversation, a piece of writing
a bio that doesn't read like it was assembled out of other people's bios
who it's for
leaders, experienced as well as new, looking to build real momentum by showing up more aligned in who they are and what they do.
people, who are building something — a business, a practice, a career, a name, a way of working — and can feel that the foundation underneath it hasn't been laid.
new in a role. starting something on your own. or somewhere in the middle of a good career, doing work you're proud of, still unable to say plainly why you do it.
it is not a content course. there is nothing in here about posting on linkedin.
