Root, one to one

Two open spots. A pilot. Starting in October.

I'm opening something I haven't done before in this form: taking people through Root, the first phase of my method, one to one.

Does any of this sound familiar?

"I am 42 and feel like I am not where I should be."

"It's not a bad job, just not what I envisioned myself doing."

"It looks good on paper. But it never felt right."

"I don't even know who I am outside of work and family."

"I've been on autopilot. Just surviving, not thriving."

"I didn't know who I was or what I wanted to do next. I just knew I didn't want to continue on the same path I was on."

"I thought I'd have to completely blow up my life and make some drastic change to feel like I was on the right path."

"I want to change my career but my ideas are all over the board."

"I know I sound ungrateful."

"Is this all there is?"

None of this is rare to feel.

That's the place this 1:1 work is built for.

Maybe it's the work that's emptying you out. Maybe something at home has shifted: a divorce, a child arriving, or children leaving and a house that's suddenly still. Maybe nothing is wrong at all, and that's the strange part.

There's one question that usually settles it: Picture your life looking exactly like this in ten years. Same work, same days, same feeling.

If that thought makes you feel numb — like it is unbearable to think things will be the same in 10 years — this is for you. Even if you have no idea where you'd go instead. You don't need to know. That's what we're here to find out.

What people found on the other side

I've taken a group of women through this work. Here's where they landed. Not one of them had to blow up her life.

One realised the move she needed was sideways, not out. She'd assumed the answer had to be dramatic. It turned out to be a lateral move, and it changed her whole energy around the work.

One discovered she wasn't done with her industry at all. What she couldn't stand was the toxicity she'd been sitting in. Once she could tell those two things apart, she went back in with real appetite, and started a project of her own that's now looking like it will be a serious success.

One wanted to work for herself, and couldn't work out what that meant. So we went the long way round, through her. What she found was that the thing she'd started out chasing was mostly her safety mechanism, still looking for status and outside approval. She does want to work for herself. She's now honest with herself about what she actually wants from it.

One had spent her life zigzagging, taking whatever opportunity was handed to her. She worked out that she wanted a particular kind of full-time job, and last I heard, she'd landed it. What she values most is knowing this isn't forever, and that she now has a way to check in with herself that means something. As she put it, it's a toolkit for navigating whatever comes next.

How the back-and-forth stops

You keep going back and forth because you're weighing your options against nothing solid. Root gives you something to weigh them against.

Between our conversations, you work through three exercises. Each one takes on a piece of what's keeping you stuck.

Stop guessing why you're so drained. What you're made of maps where your energy goes: what drains you even when it looks good on paper, and where you come alive. The tiredness starts to make sense, and you can see what to move away from.

Stop weighing every option as if they're equal. Your values compass shows what actually guides your choices right now. Once you can see it, most options fall away on their own, and the ones left are worth your attention.

Stop worrying you'll pick the wrong thing. Your drive finds the thread that has run through your whole life. When a next step lines up with it, you'll feel it, and you'll trust the choice enough to make it.

Then we talk it through. I ask the questions that are hard to ask yourself, so you're not going in circles on your own anymore.

How it works

We have four conversations of 75 minutes, one-two weeks apart. Online/on the phone, or we meet in Copenhagen.

Between conversations, you work on your own. One exercise at a time, by hand, in your own words. Expect 45 to 75 minutes each time.

That part is where the work happens. You gather the material at home, and we make sense of it together. Most people can write about themselves. What's hard alone is seeing the patterns in what you've written. That's what the conversations are for.

What you leave with

Your decision isn't necessarily made by the time we finish. For some people it makes itself along the way. For others the question changes. For others again, the first small step suddenly becomes obvious.

What you leave with is knowing where you're deciding from, and where you want to make decissions from. And one concrete next step that comes out of it.

Why it's a pilot

I've developed and tested Root with a group of women from all over the world. That part isn't new. What's new is the form: one to one, with the conversations as the place where we pull the threads together.

Because this is the first round in this form, I ask for two things. That you tell me honestly what works and what doesn't. And that I may quote you afterwards, if there's something you want to say about it.

In return, the pilot costs roughly half of what it will cost from here on.

The practical details

  • Four conversations of 75 minutes, one or two weeks apart. About five-seven weeks in total.

  • A short conversation before we start, so we both know what you're bringing.

  • A written summary from me when we finish. Yours to keep.

  • A follow-up conversation 6–8 weeks later, where we look at what has actually moved.

  • Online, or in person in Copenhagen.

  • Pilot price: €950. The price from here on will be €1,800.

  • Two places.

If you want one of the spots

Then we'll take 20 minutes on the phone and work out whether this is the right thing for you right now. If it isn't, I'll say so.
